Neofish is a small Roblox studio in Auckland, New Zealand. Luke McNamara started it to find out how much of game development Claude can take on.

Claude does much of the scripting and setup work. A person reviews every change and plays every build before it goes out.

We design around how people play on Roblox. Our games should be easy to join and more fun with friends, and they need to run well on phones.

How a game moves through the pipeline.

The pipeline uses Claude to help turn a game idea into a playable Roblox build. The Complex is the first game going through it.

    Brief

    A person writes a short brief describing the game and who it's for.

    Claude turns the brief into a design doc and a build plan. We edit both before any code gets written.

    Claude writes the Luau scripts and lays them out the way Roblox Studio expects.

    We play each build. Bugs and anything that feels off go back to Claude as feedback.

I'm an intermediate developer, and the recent progress in AI tools is what got me started on Neofish. I'm good at problem solving and I like aiming high. I started the studio because I think this is where game development is heading.
